Stimulate the economy and buy local

Labor candidate for Fremantle Peter Tagliaferri today encouraged people who will receive the $900 tax bonus payment to spend it locally.
Mr Tagliaferri said the $900 tax bonus payment would be paid to Australians who had a taxable income of $100,000 or less in 2007-2008.
"Payments have started to arrive and those in the community who are yet to receive their payment should seriously consider spending it in the local area.
"I would encourage the people of Fremantle and Cockburn to spend their money locally.
"Job security and local employment are very important during this time of global economic uncertainty and the first way to keep jobs in our community is to spend money locally.
"Visit the local markets, cafes, restaurants, sporting and retail stores or fashion boutiques and help our local business people.
"Every dollar counts for our businesses and for our community."
